Please join me in celebrating the launch of my new firm, Laura L. Knott, Historical Landscape Architect, LLC!
First challenge: what do I call this? As a devoted introvert, naming my new firm after myself was the last thing I wanted to do. I played around with various combinations of descriptive titles: Cultural Land, Land+Culture, and Historic Land, none of which I could imagine answering the phone with. Then I tried iterations of previous firm names: Commonwealth Landscape Architecture, JMA-LAS, etc., but nothing seemed right. Finally, when pushed to get an LLC, I settled on my own name and my services--straightforward and honest, the way I hoped to work with my clients.
